Handhaving van NIS2 in Belgium
De Belgische APD/GBA is een tweetalige (Frans/Nederlands) toezichthouder die bekendheid verwierf door haar toezicht op het online advertentie-ecosysteem. De APD nam een baanbrekend besluit tegen IAB Europe over het Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) van programmatic advertising, waarbij zij vaststelde dat het de AVG schond — bevestigd door het Marktenhof en later aangehaald door het HvJEU. België vulde de AVG aan met de wet van 30 juli 2018 over genetische, biometrische en gezondheidsgegevens, journalistieke uitzonderingen en justitiële gegevens. De APD richt zich ook op politieke campagnes, biometrische systemen op luchthavens en de naleving in de overheidssector.
